Hailey is an absolute gem of a human, and I’m blessed to call her my friend. When she found out she was expecting, my first question was, “When are we doing your sessions?” I fully believe in the importance of capturing your pregnancy journey because you will always want to look back on it. Even if you’re in your third trimester, tired as can be, and dealing with heartburn and fatigue, you won’t regret it.
We started brainstorming some concepts and, of course, stalking Pinterest for inspiration. I loved some ideas I saw on other photographers’ portfolios, drawing inspiration from there as well. I always love being able to draw from other creatives, people are so insanely talented and inspiring. Shout out to my friend Jessica from The Blackbird Flies Photography in Austin—she’s amazing, so look her up if you need a photographer in that area! She posted an image of a pregnant mamma that really just made me catch my breath. I was holding on to that feeling throughout this session hoping to do the same for someone else.
We had a few concepts to work with and chose a beautiful natural light studio in Roanoke, Texas. Wild Oak Studio is one of my favorite places to work, their studio is gorgeous.
While I can’t show you all the images from that session, let’s just say it’s important to feel as beautiful as you are in your pregnant body and document the miracle of creating life!
Photographing pregnant moms is an absolute favorite of mine. As a mom myself, I decided to specialize in motherhood photography because I know how special and fleeting each stage of motherhood can be.
